Protecting Baylor Stadium from Water Damage

Since opening in 2014, Baylor University's McLane Stadium has hosted over a dozen football games. Several of those games involved intense rainfall. With this in mind, the stadium was designed with a highly reliable and robust flood protection system to safeguard the field from downpours and flooding of the Brazos River.

During the planning phase, Walker Partners designed an underground storm drain pump system to discharge runoff from the stadium, complete with WaStop check valves to prevent water and debris from back flowing into the system. The result - a playable field for every game! Read more here.
